Pribylina is a village in the Liptovský Mikuláš District of the Žilina region in Slovakia, located on the southern slopes of the Western Tatras. The settlement sits at the foot of Baranec (2184 m) and Bystrá (2284 m) mountains, offering views toward Kriváň (2494.7 m), one of Slovakia's symbolic peaks. Several rivers, including Bystrá, Račková, Teplička, Kamenistý potok, Jamnícky potok, and Mlynský potok, flow through the village.
The village was first mentioned in historical records in 1286. Before the creation of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Pribylina was part of Liptó County in the Kingdom of Hungary, and from 1939 to 1945, it belonged to the Slovak Republic.
Pribylina is known for its proximity to the scenic peaks of the Western Tatras and its natural landscapes. The open-air Museum of Liptov Village, founded in 1991, presents traditional architecture and rural life. Notable landmarks include the neo-Romanesque Evangelical church (1901–1902), the Roman Catholic Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria (1910), and a Baptist prayer room (1914).
Visitors can start many hiking trails here, such as "Pribylina, Hotel Esperanto – Baranec," "Oravice – Račková Valley, camping," and "Saddle Zabrat – Junction of Jamnícka and Račková Valleys." Mountain enthusiasts can ascend Baranec, Bystrá, Hrubá kopa, Jakubina, or Plačlivé. The Museum of Liptov Village is a highlight, and the Kmeť Waterfall in the Kôprová Valley is within reach. For accommodation, the Žiarska Hut is nearby, and activities like horseback riding and visiting the organic Východná Farm are available.
