Frequently asked questions
When does the 2026/27 ski season start in the Carpathians?
Skiing usually runs from December to the end of March. At Drahobrat, the highest resort, the season can start in November and sometimes lasts until mid-May, according to the resort. Resorts announce their opening date once the snow arrives: as of 23 October 2026 Bukovel has published its 2026/27 prices but not its opening date.
How much is a ski pass in the Carpathians?
Bukovel for 2026/27: a day pass costs UAH 1,600 in the low season, UAH 2,250 in the high season and UAH 2,800 over the New Year days. 2025/26 prices from official sites: Krasiia UAH 1,000–1,300, Trostian in Slavske UAH 1,000–1,200, PLAY (Plavia) UAH 1,150–1,400, Bukovytsia UAH 900–1,000. Other resorts usually publish new prices just before the season.
Which is the highest ski resort in Ukraine?
Drahobrat: its slopes lie at 1,300–1,700 m. In winter 4×4 transfers take you up from Yasinia.
Where is the longest slope?
Krasiia states that its main slope is more than 3.5 km long with a 600 m vertical drop. Bukovel has 71 slopes on several mountains.
Where to go as a beginner or with children?
For your first days on skis choose small slopes with drag lifts and rope tows: Myhovo, Izky, Bukovytsia, the training slopes of Bukovel. The big resorts have ski schools with instructors.
How do I get to Drahobrat?
By car or train to Yasinia; from there a mountain road climbs to Drahobrat. In winter only 4×4 vehicles use it, so take a transfer and leave your car below.
