Kamianka waterfall

"Kamianka Waterfall or Kamianka Waterfall is the most famous waterfall located on the mountain river of the same name near the village of Dubyna, Skole district, Lviv region, and is part of the Skole Beskydy National Nature Park. The place where the waterfall is located is unforgettably beautiful and soothing, and the grandeur of the waterfall is impressive. It is divided into two streams by a huge rock and has a height of about six meters, which is a truly spectacular natural beauty. It is simply impossible to pass by the waterfall and not notice this natural attraction!

Due to its shape and location - among incredibly beautiful forested rocks - this hydrological natural monument attracts a huge number of tourists and everyone who wants to spend time in the lap of nature throughout the year.

The waterfall on the Kamianka River is divided into two streams by a huge boulder. It is both beautiful and powerful. Around the waterfall there is a valley covered with broken stones, brought down by the stormy streams of the spring river from the mountains. Imagine for just one minute the power of the waters of the Kamianets Falls when the snow begins to melt or when it rains for a long time in the summer!!! Although the waterfall is most spectacular in early spring, when the Kamianka River is at its fullest, you can come to admire the beauty of the man-made tourist attraction throughout the year.

The waterfall is part of the national park, so you have the opportunity to explore a number of interesting places. Nearby is a recreational area where you can take a break, have a delicious open-air snack, try many local liqueurs, drink hot tea or buy delicious souvenirs in small shops. Following the signs on the path above, you will come across the Crane Lake, which is popularly called the Dead Lake. The reason is that the water has a high hydrogen sulfide content and is very cold. For this reason, there are no fish in it, but its mountainous location in the snowdrops instantly fascinates. Near the lake there is a mountain spring, the water from which, according to the locals, has healing properties. It is recommended to drink water from the spring for medicinal purposes, as it contains a lot of hydrogen sulfide. Also, Mount Klyuch is located nearby. On the way to the top, you can contemplate the unique rocky cliffs that are a geological wonder. The massiveness and beauty of the rocks among the Carpathian forests will be remembered forever. Therefore, if you take the time to visit this area and overcome this route, you will get incredible emotions and unforgettable pleasure from your vacation.

If you are traveling by train, you need to get off at the Skole station. Near the station there is a bus station where you can find a shuttle bus going to the waterfall. Or you can take a minibus in the direction of Skole-Lviv and get off at the Dubyna village stop. Also, you need to get off at this stop if you are traveling to Kamianka by minibus from other cities. Opposite the stop there is a sign to the waterfall, following this road you will reach the checkpoint of the park. The symbolic entrance fee is 5 UAH per person. If you are going to the waterfall by car, take the Kyiv-Chop highway opposite the same bus stop in the village of Dubyna. At the entrance to the park, the fee for a car is 8 UAH.

When planning a vacation for a few days, you can stay in the town of Skole. And calmly and leisurely explore the natural beauty of the Carpathians. If you want to fully enjoy your vacation in the open air, there is a campsite near the waterfall.

For the convenience of tourists, there are specially equipped places and observation decks near the waterfall. And thanks to the fact that the route from Skole to the waterfall is marked (the distance from Skole, depending on the starting point, is 7-10 km (from the railway station is exactly 10 km)), you do not have to wander in search of Kamianets Waterfall.

Not far from the waterfall, there is another equally well-known and frequently visited tourist attraction - the unique and, at the same time, mysterious Dead or Crane Lake, whose water is enriched with hydrogen sulfide, so no animals can be found here. Nearby are mineral springs and Mount Kliuch, which is famous for its numerous rocks and caves, as well as the historical monument - the Sich Riflemen Memorial Complex. That is, tourists can fully relax and enjoy the delights of the surrounding nature. In general, the waterfall is striking in its beauty, inspiring the environment with the power of the mountain elements.

Numerous tourist groups come here from Lviv and the surrounding resorts, including Truskavets, Skhidnytsia, Morshyn, and many others. Everyone here can buy various souvenirs and enjoy barbecue, berries and mushrooms.
