Stryi district is a district of Ukraine in the south of Lviv region. The district and administrative center is the city of regional significance Stryi. The Stryi district is rich in the following tourist locations (settlements): the resort town of Morshyn, Dovholuka, Duliby, Verkhnia Stryina, Rozgirche, and Volia-Zaderevatska. The district is located in the northern strip of the Ukrainian Carpathians, at the intersection of important communication routes. There are 19 rivers flowing through the district. Among them are Stryi, Svicha, Sukil, Berezhnytsia. There are mineral water reserves in the villages of Lysovychi and Rozgirche.

The Stryi district borders on Drohobych, Zhydachiv, Skole, Mykolaiv, and Dolyna districts.

The diverse natural resources of Stryi district, picturesque landscapes, mineral springs and historical monuments attract tourists every year. The Morshyn health resort, Dovbush's rocks in Rozgirche village and Shepilska recreation center in Dovholuka village are particularly popular with vacationers.
Stryi region is a land of unique beauty and poetry. People here love art and music. They support creativity in 64 People's Houses. Part of the history is preserved in museums, and literature is promoted through a wide network of libraries. More than 20 folk groups perform concerts in the district and beyond. In the Stryi district, there are the Stepan Bandera Museum-Estate in the village of Volia Zaderevatska, the Oleksa Gasyn Museum-Estate in the village of Koniukhiv, the People's Museum of the Liberation Struggle of the Ukrainian People in the village of Kavsko, and the Ivan Franko Museum in the village of Zavadiv. The People's House in the village of Banya Lysovytska contains materials about the famous composer Roman Savytskyi. Residents of Stryi district are now creating the history of their land with their own hands, multiplying its wealth and glory.

But the greatest wealth and pride of the Stryi region is its population and history. It is a land of high culture and spirituality that has accumulated a large and rich treasury of folk traditions and artistic achievements throughout history. The Stryi region is known for such personalities as Yevhen Olesnytskyi, Ivanna Biberovych, Filaret Kolessa, Ostap Nyzhankivskyi, Oleksa and Ostap Bobykevych, Hryhorii Trukh, Myroslav Liubachivskyi, Stepan Bandera, Oleksa Gasyn, Volodymyr Tymchii Lopatinskyi, and others. Ivan Franko loved this land and was happy to visit its various places. The nature of the Stryi region gave Franko strength and energy. The poet enjoyed spending time in Duliby, Hirne, Liubyntsi, Zavadiv, and Holobutiv.

  • Settlement and rock cave monastery of the VIII-VII centuries BC; XII-XIII centuries, Rozgirche village. "The Rock Cave Monastery of St. Onufriy" (XII-XIII centuries). The rock monastery in the village of Rozgirche, which stands at the head of all rock monasteries in Galicia, is fascinating for its small two-story church carved into the rock, a unique case of this type of architecture preserved in Galicia, particularly in the Boykivshchyna.
