Sukil Waterfalls

Near the village of Sukil in the Bohorodchany urban hromada, the Sukil Waterfalls are truly a paradise for tourists and guests.

The Sukil Waterfalls are located in the Stryi Beskids massif on the streams Sukil-Playsky, Sukil-Nabyvky and Berezhky (right tributaries of the river Sukil).

The first waterfall - Sukil Lower - is 2.5 m high. It is located to the left of the main road in the village of Sukil, in front of the Church of St. Michael.

The second and third waterfalls - Sukil-Playsky (8 m) and Sukil-Playsky Upper (4 m) - are located on the stream of the same name, 150-200 m apart. About 500 m from them is the fourth waterfall - Sukil Upper (3 m).

The fifth waterfall - Sukil-Nabyvky (5 m) - is located about an hour's walk from the outskirts of the village, in the area of Mount Nabyvky (1225 m).

The sixth waterfall - Dyka Baba (4 m) - is northwest of the village cemetery, approximately 1 km away, on the stream Berezhky (400-500 m to the stream left of the cemetery, then through a ravine to the waterfall parallel to the current upstream about 500-600 m).

The seventh and eighth - Khashchuvatyy (two-tiered, total height - about 7 m) and Khashchuvatyy Upper (1.5 m) are located 200 m apart in the hamlet of Khashchuvatyy.

The waterfalls flow in a place where the water passes through rock formations made of erosion-resistant sandstones, and they are especially picturesque after heavy rains or during snowmelt.

The Sukil Waterfalls are easily accessible; they can be seen while hiking from Dovbush Rocks through the village of Bubnyshche, or by visiting the village of Sukil.

Not sure where to go when it’s raining or snowing outside? Head to the Sukil Waterfalls! In one village, there are as many as eight incredibly beautiful waterfalls. And in such wet weather, they are the most full-flowing and picturesque. Additionally, you will visit an interesting cave carved into the mountain. According to legend, monks from the nearby monastery hid here from raids. Inside, there are two long corridors and a hollow with water.
