Rozhnyativ district was formed in 1940. It is located in the western part of Ivano-Frankivsk region in the Carpathian foothills and mountainous part of the Carpathians, occupying the southeastern part of the Carpathian Beskydy, part of the Gorgany Mountains and most of the Limnytsia River basin, which is considered the cleanest river in Europe. The highest peaks: Igrovets (1804 m), Grofa (1748 m). Forested areas cover more than two-thirds of the territory. The forests are full of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cowberries, and mushrooms. The population of the district belongs to the ethnic group of Boikos, and traditions and folk crafts have been partially preserved.
Rozhnyativ is an urban-type settlement (since 1940) located on the Duba and Chechva rivers, known since the XII century. The first settlement appeared in the valley of the Duba River as a small settlement called the Old Village. The remains of the castle of the XV century have been preserved to this day. The main tourist locations in the area are Osmoloda and Broshniv-Osada.
The ancient settlements also include the villages of Broshniv-Osada (16th century), Perehinske (the first written mention dates back to 1292), Tsineva (1636-1637), and Krasne (1450). In the eighteenth century, the residents of Perehinske took an active part in the opryshky movement. Fedir Byzor, who was appointed leader by Oleksa Dovbush, was noted for his bold actions. Dovbush himself visited Perehinske several times in October 1739.
The territory of 130.5 thousand hectares, of which 80 thousand hectares are forests and mountains belonging to the Central Horhany, is now the least developed mountainous areas of the Ukrainian Carpathians. One of the cleanest rivers in Europe, the Limnytsia, has its source here. There are also interesting tourist sites that are little known to the general public: Pidhurkalo waterfall(Ripne village), Ilemnyansky waterfall(Ilemnya village), Skruntar waterfall(Zakernychne village), Pavlivsky Stone, Gurkalo Ilemske waterfall on the Ilemka River, and others.

Rozhniativ district is also interesting for tourists for its historical (architectural) and local history monuments: the castle of the Polish magnate Skarbka (14th century), the Angels' Blast Furnace (14th century) have been preserved (in reconstructed form) .), the Angeliv blast furnace in the Angeliv tract, built in 1810 by A. Angelovych, and the newly rebuilt "Cedar Chamber" in the Pidliute tract, known since the beginning of the twentieth century as the resort-residence of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. There is also the Sokil Plast Camp-Museum, founded in 1926 (located near the village of Hrynkiv).
The folk historical and local history museum of culture and life of the Boykivshchyna in the village of Tsineva has a rich exposition. The cross "in memory of the holy sobriety " (1874) is still preserved in the village of Yasen. In this village, there is a house-museum of Ivan Vahylevych, a member of the "Russian Trinity" and one of the authors of The Mermaid of the Dniester. Grateful highlanders erected a monument to the writer as a sign of respect and honor. A memorial to the first emigrant workers, Vasyl Ilyniak and Ivan Pylypiv, erected on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of this event in the village of Nebyliv, reminds us of the difficult times of the Galicians that marked the beginning of the mass emigration of the Boikos to Canada.
Mountain peaks:
Rozhnyativ district is a place where there is no city bustle, where you can plunge into the atmosphere of untouched nature, healing mountain air, combined with the hospitality of rural green estates, warmth and comfort of small hotels. We invite you to the hotel complex "Free Winds", the complex "Ganz" in the village of Osmoloda, rural green estates "Fine Carpathians", "Arnika ", "Albertville " in the village of Osmoloda, "Limnitsky whisper " in the village of Kuzminets and others.
Bystrytske forestry belongs to the Osmoloda forestry and is located in the Rizarnya tract. It is known for the highest local peak, Mount Syvulia (1836 meters above sea level). Despite the fact that it is lower than Hoverla, it is extremely difficult to overcome the route. This part of the Carpathian Beskydy is very rocky, the so-called moving mountains. It's hard to climb, because it feels like the ground is solid under your feet, and when you stand down, the stone starts to move. You have to make your way between frequent logging fires.
One of the halt points is the Bystrytske forestry. Here, in a well-kept farm, there are all conditions for staying. After a long journey on broken roads, the comfort of living quarters is the reward. You can cook food in the room, where there are dishes and food for travelers. And even candles in case of a power outage. Tourists can set up tents on the large well-groomed territory of the forestry. There is a menagerie, a small lake, and gazebos. In one of them, you can make a fire in the middle.
For residents of big cities, the way of life in the area's settlements may seem unusual. Among the peculiarities is the celebration of religious holidays. On such days, most establishments that require manual labor, such as car services, are closed. However, on such days, you can get acquainted with most folk traditions and customs.
