Parenki Mountain
Mount Parenky is a popular peak in the Ukrainian Carpathians. It is located in the Gorgan mountain range on the Parenky ridge of the same name in the southern part of the Rozhnyativ district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The height is 1735 meters.
The top of Parenky Mountain is flat, slightly elongated from northwest to southeast. The southwestern and northern slopes of the peak are quite steep and almost inaccessible. On Parenky, as well as on most of the Gorgan peaks, there are quite common hard-to-pass shrubs - overgrown with fescue, and yellowish stone scree. The foot of the mountain is covered with centuries-old coniferous forests - pine and spruce trees grow here.
Not far from Parenky, there are such famous peaks of the Gorgan massif as Mount Moloda (to the northwest), Mount Grofa (to the northeast), and Mount Velyka Popadia (to the south and southwest of Mount Parenky, respectively).
Although Mount Parenky looks quite accessible and, so to speak, meek, and at first it may seem that it can be climbed in an hour, this is not quite true: the fact is that stone placers and dense shrubbery make it very difficult to move, so it is worth remembering this when planning your route.
The nearest settlement from which people most often climb the Parenky is the village of Osmoloda.
