Mount Dil (Krushelnytsia)
Dil is a wooded 899 m summit in the Skole Beskids, Lviv Oblast. It lies north-east of the Parashka ridge, about 2.6 km from Parashka itself (1,268 m), and rises above the village of Krushelnytsia (about 3.6 km). A little farther are Korchyn (about 6.7 km) and Skole (about 6.9 km).
Dil is much lower than the summits of the main crest, but it carries a handy link between Parashka, the Hurkalo Waterfall and Korchyn. Low hills stand around it: Kremenytsia (864 m) about 1.4 km to the west, Plai (686 m) about 1.8 km to the east and Kychera (938 m) about 2.4 km to the south-east. About 2.6 km to the south-west rise Tymkiv Verkh and, beyond it, Zelena.
How to get there
Seven of our routes cross Dil or pass within 30 m of it — all of them connect Parashka with the Hurkalo Waterfall. From Skole the shortest is Skole – Mount Parashka – Hurkalo Waterfall (18.9 km, about 1,070 m of ascent). Skole – Mount Parashka – Hurkalo Waterfall – Korchyn (21.9 km) ends in Korchyn, and Korchyn – Hurkalo Waterfall – Mount Parashka – Krushelnytsia (39.2 km) finishes right in the village below the mountain. If you only want the waterfall, take the short Korchyn – Hurkalo Waterfall (6.2 km), which passes about 2 km from the summit.
Water, shelter and safety
Our map shows the nearest spring about 490 m to the south-west, at roughly 780 m (condition unknown). Krushelnytsia, about 2 km to the east, has several picnic shelters, and the shelter and hut below Parashka are about 2.7–2.8 km to the south-west. The paths run through forest and get slippery after rain, especially near the waterfall — keep away from the edge of the rock steps. For the forecast see the weather on Parashka (the nearest summit with our forecast, about 3 km away). In an emergency call 112 or 101 — mountain rescue works around the clock.
