Nevytsky Castle dates back to the twelfth century, and historical evidence suggests that in 1274 Nevytsky Castle had the status of a royal castle. It is located 12 km from Uzhhorod in the forest on a high mountain, which is washed by the Vaida stream. It was owned by Hungarian rulers. Time has not spared the majestic fortress, but it is being restored and the building is regaining its former grandeur.
