Polonyna Rosokhata (Sheshory)
The territory is filled with rich flora and fauna. In the forest, you can meet animals: deer, wild boar, fox, amphibians (salamanders), and birds. There is an incredible number of plant species (more than 50 species), and rare orchids can be found in humid places.
Why is the meadow called "Rosokhata"? The two parts of the field that form the branches look like dewdrops. There is a cave nearby that has many legends. The shape of a rectangular tunnel is 1-1.5 meters wide, 27 meters long, and up to 2-4 meters high. The cave was used by the members of the Oprishkos movement who were led by the leader of the Oprishkos, O. Dovbush.
Further up the trail, across the stream, there is a meadow surrounded by a beech forest. From here, the trail leads up to a mixed spruce and beech forest. There are spruce, pine, sycamore, etc. Many of them have their own legends and have witnessed many historical events.
It takes an hour or two to get to the meadow. The climb is worth the effort and time! The meadow offers a phenomenal and breathtaking view. It's a great place to be alone with your thoughts, enjoy nature and fresh air.
Hutsul shepherds live in the meadow for six months and make cheese. You can see how they make cheese, brynza, and vurda using various ancient methods. You can taste and buy different types of cheese, and cook a real Carpathian banosh together.
