Dead Lake (Sheshory)

Not far from the Rosokhata valley, on the neighboring Karmatura ridge, there is the Dead Lake. The lake is small in size, pear-shaped, about 40 meters long. Dead Lake, whose name is associated with the fact that no animals live here - there is a large amount of hydrogen sulfide in the water, is located at an altitude of over 800 meters above sea level! It is located near Lake Lebedyn, on a mountain between Yablunove and Sheshory. The route is marked by the employees of the Hutsulshchyna National Park from the meadow.

Wooden bridges were built, resting places were arranged, information signs were installed, and, of course, the trail was marked. Dead Lake is hidden in the shade of a beech forest. There is a stream with delicious spring water, as well as wooden tables and benches. There is a flat place for tents and equipped trash bins. This is a great hike for one day or for several days with an overnight stay. The hike from Sheshory to Lebedyn starts from the monument to Taras Shevchenko in the center of the village, then along the street past the shop to the Black Stream, and then up the forest path, following the new white and green marker. Later there will be several places to rest, one of them near the Studenyi stream with tasty and cold water.
