Krapelkovyi waterfall (Monastyrsko-Bukhtivetskyi waterfall)

Krapelkovyi waterfall is a waterfall in the Ukrainian Carpathians (Gorgany massif), within the Nadvirna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The waterfall is located on a small tributary of the Bukhtivets River (left tributary of the Bystrytsia Nadvirna), near the village of Bukove, in the Bukhtivets tract. The waterfall is 10 meters high. It was formed in a place where a small mountain stream falls from the top of a rock massif of the flysch type to the bottom of the Bukhtivets River canyon. The water falls in a continuous stream. Since the stream is small, in dry times the water reaches the bottom in separate drops. That's why the waterfall got its name.

Krapelkovyi is one of the few Carpathian waterfalls that can be viewed from the other side by going under an overhanging rock. The waterfall is relatively easily accessible. It can be reached by car or bicycle. Not far from Krapelkovy waterfall is Bukhtivetsky waterfall.

Routes to Krapelkovy waterfall

Given the wealth of waterfalls in the Carpathians, it is not surprising that the main hiking route includes the closest possible acquaintance with them. It is proposed to cover 4 waterfalls: Maniavsky, Bukhtivetsky, Krapelkovy and Dzvinka. The route starts from the village of Manyava and ends in the village of Pasichna. Its total length is about 25 km, and therefore it can be overcome both in a day and in two. Although we still advise you to take your time and stretch this pleasure. This route is quite simple, and therefore suitable for all ages and levels of training - do not think that traveling in the Carpathians is only for the chosen few who run a marathon every month.
