Berehove district is located in the southwestern part of
Zakarpattia region. The total area is 635 km2. The district includes 43 settlements. It is interesting that the
city of Berehove, which is the administrative center of the district, is not part of it. The population is 50,510 people (as of January 01, 2019). Geographically, it borders
Uzhhorod district in the west,
Mukachevo district in the north, and
Irshava and
Vynohradiv districts in the east.
The relief of the district is predominantly flat, which turns into the Carpathians in the east. The district is also home to the Tysa and Borzhava rivers, as well as the Chornyi Mochar and Verke canals. The district is rich in minerals (coal, alunites, barites) and building materials (perlite). Berehove district is rich in the following tourist locations (settlements):

Today, the district is known for its wines produced at the Berehove Winery, and the Vyhoda branch of
the Carpathian Tram narrow-gauge railway ends in the district. The area is also known for its famous thermal springs, some of which have swimming pools.
