Mount Buzhora

Mount Buzhora is the highest peak of the Volcanic Ridge of Ukrainian Carpathians. It is located on the Great Dil massif, at the border of Uzhgorod and Irshava districts of the Transcarpathian region, northeast of the city of Irshava. The height is 1085 m.

The slightly convex summit and steep, dissected slopes are remnants of a dormant volcano, with tributaries of the Borzhava River. It consists of andesites, andesite-basalts, and tuffs. It is covered with beech forests and primeval forests. The southern slopes of the mountain are steep, while the western and northern slopes are gentle. To the west of the summit lies a hydrological natural monument - the swamp "Chorne Bahno", which has healing properties and is the deepest (almost 7 meters) peat bog in the Ukrainian Carpathians, characterized by a pronounced convex surface.

To the southwest is the state nature reserve Enchanted Valley, where original stone formations up to 100 m high have arisen as a result of water-air erosion. Some of them are named Strimchak, Kam'yana Smerika, Kam'yany Verblyud, Ruins of the Castle, Throne Stone. To the north and northeast of Buzhora, across the valley of the Borzhava River, lies the powerful mountain massif - Polonyna Borzhava.

The Smerekovy Kamin area offers a wonderful view, characterized by unique rare forms of rocky relief. Monocquartzites with samples of hethite prevail here, and in the upper part of the area, there are boulders of opalolite and unique large porphyritic andesites and andesite-basalts. The bizarre rocks of the Smerekovy Kamin area are well-known among climbers in Ukraine. In the Kam'yanka area, there are tourist-recreational camps "Transcarpathia" and "Enchanted Valley", where children from all regions of Ukraine undergo rehabilitation.

At the very foot of the mountain, there is a ski slope 800 meters long, suitable for beginners who are just learning to ski. The nearest settlements are: the village of Rososh, the village of Il'nytsia, the village of Osiy, the village of Pidhirne.
