Truskavets Reservoir
Truskavets Reservoir, known locally as Lake Solonytsia, lies on the south-eastern edge of Truskavets, next to the Pomirky area. It was built in 1962 on the Solonytsia stream to give the spa town piped water, and it still supplies Truskavets with drinking water today. The reservoir belongs to the town water utility, Truskavetsvodokanal. Low Carpathian ridges and mixed forest surround it.
- River: Solonytsia, plus small mountain streams
- Length: about 1 km, up to 0.45 km wide
- Depth: 3.9 m on average, 15.5 m at most
- Elevation: 368 m
- Built: 1962
The lake and its protective shore strip are fenced off, and a footpath runs along the fence. White swans live on the water. Nearby are the Pomirky mineral springs (Naftusia, Barbara, Kateryna) and the Pidhiria arboretum; the walk from the town centre takes 15–25 minutes. In June 2026 the water fell to a record low, exposing the silted bottom, and local journalists called for a study of the causes.
Fishing and swimming are not allowed here: this is a drinking-water reservoir. See the fishing section below; for places to cast a line nearby, see Fishing in the Carpathians and the neighbouring Uniatychi Reservoir.

Fishing is prohibited
Truskavets Reservoir is the town’s drinking-water source, so fishing and swimming are prohibited. The lake and its protective shore strip are fenced off; you can walk along the path by the fence. It is not a leased fishery and is not on the Lviv oblast list of places open to anglers during the spawning ban. The nearest water where fishing is allowed is the Uniatychi Reservoir near Drohobych.
