Bilas Museum

The museum is located in an old wooden house with a good atmosphere. The works of the master are amazing, it is very difficult for a person to imagine how much work was put into each work. A cozy museum with exquisite tapestries, wonderful paintings and an interesting exposition of the inventions of the great Leonardo da Vinci. It's like being in another time. In 1992, an art museum was opened in the center of Truskavets, dedicated to Mykhailo Bilas, whose name is recorded in more than 100 editions and publications in different languages. Mykhailo is a multifaceted artist. He is a master of textile plastics, decorative flowers, and the author of story panels and applications. Mykhailo's hands wove carpets, spindles, tapestries, pillows and carpets. His style and skill were influenced by the experience of a weaver, a painter and a folk master. The artist refers to the traditions of Ukrainian embroidery, passing them through his worldview. The artist was born in Ivano-Frankivsk region on August 1, 1924. Mykhailo graduated from the Drohobych Gymnasium, then studied at a choreographic studio. He was a good dancer and had a wonderful voice. After graduating from the vocal class, he went to the second year of art school in Lviv. At the age of 29, he became a student of artistic textiles at the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. He graduated in 1959 with the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.
