Bobrovec is a village and municipality in the Liptovský Mikuláš District, Žilina region of Slovakia. It lies at an altitude of 635 metres in the scenic Liptov region, at the foot of the Western Tatras. The Poliansky stream flows through the village, and the surrounding mountain ranges attract nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The first historical mention of Bobrovec dates back to 1231. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Liptó County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1945, the village belonged to the Slovak Republic. During World War II, Bobrovec was a refuge for escapees from Poland, and in March 1945, heavy fighting took place here for its liberation.

Bobrovec is known for its strong traditions in sheep farming and agriculture, with an active agricultural cooperative. The most valuable monument is the 14th-century Church of St. George, rebuilt in the 16th and 18th centuries. The village is conveniently located near popular natural sites of the Western Tatras, making it a great base for mountain excursions.

From Bobrovec, visitors can access numerous hiking trails, such as "Kvacsanska Valley Mouth – Volovec – Pysne Saddle", "Tatra Magistrala: Na Tokarinach – Podbanske", and "Pribylina, Esperanto Hotel – Baranec". Peaks like Baranec, Hruba Kopa, Pachola, Prosečné, Lomné, and Plačlivé are accessible for hikers. Nearby attractions include Liptovská Mara, the ruins of Liptovský Hrad, the wooden articular church in Svätý Kríž, and the Ethnographic and Shepherding Museum in Liptovský Hrádok. Craft lovers can visit the Liptovar brewery in Liptovský Mikuláš and the Dechtáre sheepfold above Liptovská Mara. For nature stays, the Červenec and Žiarska huts are available.
