Mount Bliznytsia

Blyznytsia (also called Bliznytsia, Blyzhnytsia) are two mountains of the Ukrainian Carpathians, located in the eastern part of the Svydovets mountain range. The peaks are located in Rakhiv district of Zakarpattia regionbetween the valleys of the Chorna Tysa and Kosivska rivers.

The two mountains of Bliznytsia are located nearby and are very similar in shape: the height of the northern, higher one is 1883 m, the smaller, northern one is 1872 m. To the north of the peak is Mount Dragobrat.

The western and southern slopes of Bliznytsia are gentle, while the eastern slopes are steep and abrupt, especially in the direction of the valley formed by glacial kar, where several glacial lakes can be found.

Up to an altitude of 1350-1400 meters, the slopes of the Bliznytsia are home to centuries-old beech and coniferous forests, and widespread crooked forests, which can be very, very difficult to wade through. Above this mark, the slopes of the peak are covered with mountain meadows with mountain grasses.

Blyznytsia is located in the Svydovets Nature Reserve, a protected area that is part of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. Here, on the peaks, there is a botanical natural monument called the Cliffs of Bliznytsia.

From the top of the Bliznytsia Cliffs, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Chornohora mountain range - Hoverla and Petros are clearly visible, as well as some of the larger peaks of the Gorgan Mountains - Sinyak and Dovbushanka.

It is worth noting that Blyznytsia is the location of the popular among outdoor enthusiasts route "By the Peaks of Svydovets", which leads from the village of Ust-Chorna to Yasinya (or in the opposite direction).

The nearest settlements are Kvasy, Yasinia, and Trostianets.
