Mount Haborianska
Haborianska (also Haborianska Hyha) is a 1,445 m mountain (1,444.5 m exactly; some sources give 1,447 m) in the Pokuttia-Bukovyna Carpathians. It stands in the Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, north-east of Staishche and north-west of Berezhnytsia; Volova is also close by.
The summit is treeless; the slopes are steep (except the south-eastern one) and mostly forested. Haborianska is surrounded by well-known peaks: Rotylo, the highest summit of these mountains, to the north-west, Hrehit to the north and Bila Kobyla about 2.5 km to the south-east.
How to get there
Our site has no marked route to Haborianska itself yet. The nearest peaks with their own pages are Bubenska (about 1.9 km away) and Bila Kobyla, and Haborianska combines well with a hike to them. You can start in Staishche or Volova, each roughly 5.5 km from the summit as the crow flies.
Water, shelter and safety
Our map shows springs below Mount Bubenska 380–450 m from the summit, at about 1,250–1,280 m, and shepherd huts below the same mountain 600 m away. Another spring lies below Bila Kobyla, about a kilometre off. The springs’ condition is unknown, so carry spare water. The bare summit is exposed to wind, and in fog it is easy to head the wrong way between the neighbouring peaks — keep an offline track. In an emergency call 112 or 101 — contacts of the nearest units are on our mountain rescue page.
