Thermal baths with a Tatra view in Białka Tatrzańska

Terma Bania is a large thermal water park in the village of Białka Tatrzańska, at the foot of the Kotelnica ski slope. The idea for the complex was born in 2006, and the project, co-financed by the European Union, was carried out in 2009–2011. The buildings were fitted into the natural lie of the land and finished in stone and wood, mostly from Podhale itself, combining modern design with highlander motifs.

The pools are filled with mineral water heated to a high temperature by the Earth's warmth. According to the complex, it contains sulphides, silica, potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron and is slightly acidic. In the fun zone the pool water is 34–38 °C, so bathing outdoors is comfortable even in hard frost. The total water surface is 2,400 m² across 15 pool basins, and the outdoor pools look out on the panorama of the High and Belianske Tatras.

What to see and do

The complex is divided into three independent zones, so noisy fun does not disturb those who came for peace and quiet.

  • Fun zone (Strefa Zabawy) — for families: year-round slides Anakonda, Turbo, a raft slide and a family slide with a combined length of over 300 m, a wave pool, a grotto with a geyser, a waterfall, carousels, water cannons, a lazy river and massage benches. There are two tubs of raw sulphurous geothermal water at 37 °C. A new outdoor pool opened in December 2025 with water swings, in-water loungers and a bar where you can order without leaving the pool.
  • For the youngest — the Termuś paddling pool no deeper than 35 cm with its own separate water circulation, and an indoor water playground on the mezzanine with a "water laboratory". In summer there is an outdoor water playground, an inflatable water play area of about 400 m², a three-lane slide over 150 m long and more than 500 sun loungers.
  • Relaxation zone (Strefa Relaksu) — indoor and outdoor pools with geysers, air-bubble loungers, counter-current jets, a swim-up bar, two textile saunas (Finnish at 100 °C and a herbal panoramic one at 65 °C), a plunge pool at up to 10 °C and a snow basin.
  • Saunarium — over 1,000 m² for sauna lovers: the "Ruska Bania" in the garden (up to 80 °C), the "Fir Chamber" lined with fir branches (up to 60 °C), a Finnish sauna (up to 100 °C), the "Steam Forge", a steam bath, an infrared sauna, a salt grotto with a brine graduation tower, a brine pool (up to 36 °C) and a cool swimming pool (up to 24 °C). Sauna-master rituals run daily from 12:00 to 21:00 and are included in the ticket.

Practical information

Getting there. Szos-Mig minibuses run from Zakopane bus station (Dworzec PKS) to Białka and back on the same route. By car — to ul. Środkowa 181; by the turn-off to Kotelnica there are two car parks: the lower one and the upper one behind the barrier (paid according to Kotelnica's tariff). The Palenica car park, the starting point for Morskie Oko, is about 18 km away.

Opening hours: daily 9:00–22:00 (as of October 2026).

Tickets (at the desk: lower price Mon–Thu, higher Fri–Sun; cheaper online): fun zone for 2.5 h — 89/99 zł for adults and 69/79 zł for children up to 13; fun + relaxation for 2.5 h — 99/109 zł, with no time limit — 135/165 zł. Online tickets start at 53 zł (fun zone), 73 zł (Saunarium) and 103 zł (OPEN, all zones). The afternoon ticket (entry after 16:00, up to 6 h) costs 99/109 zł for adults. Children up to 104 cm tall pay a symbolic 1 zł.

Good to know. Bring swimwear and pool slippers; towels can be hired. Bringing your own food is not allowed (except baby food), and no animals are admitted. For disabled visitors there are separate entry gates, lifts, two adapted changing rooms, accessible toilets and ramps into the indoor pools, but the complex is not adapted to every type of disability, so it is worth phoning before your visit. The baths are open all year, and in winter they are often combined with skiing on Kotelnica.

Nearby

Close by stands the wooden Church of St Michael the Archangel in Dębno, a UNESCO site, and above Lake Czorsztyn rises Niedzica Castle. For a mountain day head to Morskie Oko, and if you would like to try another set of baths, neighbouring Termy Bukovina await in Bukowina Tatrzańska.
