The village of Orshivtsi dates back to 1580 as an integral part of Kyivan Rus of the Galician-Volyn principality. The village received its modern name in 1638 from the surname of the Moldovan lord Oresh. Orshivtsi is a village located in the Kitsman district, Chernivtsi region. The distance to the regional center of Chernivtsi is 30 km. The population is 2402 inhabitants. The village is located on the border with the Sniatyn district of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Orshivka Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The official date of its foundation is 1850, which is probably the date of its reconstruction. Some sources claim that the church was built in 1758. A vine braids the church. There are two bell towers near the church. Both are covered with tin. The old cemetery is next to the church.
There is also an arboretum in Orshivtsi. The Orshivtsi Park of Garden Art is one of the oldest in Bukovyna. It was created in 1850 on an area of 10 hectares. The park has an original park architecture and a rich dendrological composition. It has more than 70 species of trees and shrubs, including 36 species of exotic varieties and forms. Among them are Weymouth pine and black Canadian hemlock, Banks pine, eastern biota, maple sycamore, red oak, Caucasian linden, ailanthus, honey walnut and other valuable species.

The main population is Ukrainians. The villagers are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, entrepreneurial activity and work in various institutions.
