The large lake Bukivets is located on the border of Kosiv and Verkhovyna districts. There is a large lake in the center of the village of Bukivets, not far from the school. It's really interesting to see such a large water body on the pass, where the legendary Rybnytsia River originates. From the village of Bukivets, or rather from the Bukovets Pass, there are three very steep routes for tourists: to Mount Ihrets, to Pysanyi Kamen, and to Ternoshory.

From the pass, you can also visit the best Hutsul, a genius musician, Mykhailo Tafiychuk. There is also a new route from the pass to Mount Igrets, where at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level, there is a meadow and the oldest operating citizen cheese factory in the Carpathians.

Within the village, there is the 810 m high Bukovetskyi Pass (according to other sources - 835 m), near which there are natural monuments - the rocks "Pysanyi Kamen" and Bukovetskyi waterfall. To the south of the village is Mount Varatyn (1038 m), and to the north is the Igrets ridge. A mountain road to Mount Pysanyi Kamen (1221 m) begins from Bukovets, on the top of which stands a rock with numerous carved inscriptions and signs. Probably, in the distant pre-Christian times, the Pysanyi Kamen was a pagan temple.

The village is one of the highest villages in Ukraine, located on a mountain saddle between the Pysanyi Kamen and Igrets mountains. That is why it is also called the "village on the seven winds".

The village is located on the left bank of the Bukovets stream, the left tributary of the Black Cheremosh.
