Ľubietová is a village in the Banská Bystrica District of the Banská Bystrica Region, Slovakia, situated at 471 metres above sea level in the Slovak Central Mountains. The settlement lies in the upper part of the Ľubietová Valley, mostly on both sides of the Hutná stream. The geographic center of Slovakia, the Hrb mountain, is located nearby.

The first written mention of Ľubietová dates back to 1379, when it was granted royal town status. Thanks to rich copper and iron ore deposits, it quickly became a major medieval mining center. German miners settled here, and the town joined the Protestant "League of Seven Mining Towns."

Ľubietová is renowned for its minerals: libethenite was first discovered here in 1823 and named after the village's German name. Euchroite was also first described in Ľubietová, and other minerals such as azurite and malachite can be found. Large spoil heaps and abandoned adits remain, and the area features historical landmarks, including the Ľupča Castle.

Visitors can explore numerous hiking trails, such as "Branch to Korytnica – Hiadeľ", "Predajná – saddle under Hrb, shelter", "Lopej – saddle under Hrb, shelter", and "Hrochoť – Hrochoť Mill". The Pod Hrbom Shelter is available for hikers, and for wellness and relaxation, the Brusno Spa offers mineral springs and the Caracalla Spa. Ľubietová is an excellent base for discovering the region's natural and historical attractions.
