Budget ski resorts in the Carpathians

Over the past few years, the ski tourism industry has developed quite actively in Ukraine, with new resorts, services, etc. There are also quite affordable options. So you no longer need to be a millionaire to discover this type of recreation. Source: Channel 24.

Ski vacation is, of course, the Carpathians. But if until recently this type of recreation was associated with the Bukovel resort and, at best, a couple of other names, now their geography has expanded significantly. We've selected the most affordable offers for you.

DRAGOBRAT

Where: Yasinya village, Rakhiv district, Zakarpattia region.

This is the highest ski resort in Ukraine. It is located at an altitude of 1300 - 1400 m above sea level among the horseshoe-shaped Svydovets mountain range. The slopes are gentle, without sharp elevation changes, on the slopes of the Stig and Gendarme mountains, designed for both professionals and beginners. There are freestyle trails of international class.

What is offered. Parking lot in the village of Yasinya. There is equipment rental, a ski repair shop, a first-aid post, a ski school and instructor services, as well as snowmobiles, ATVs, free-riding tours, snowmobile tours, sledding tours, and sled rental.

Prices: from 50 UAH for one lift; from 255 UAH for 5 lifts; from 400 UAH for 10 lifts; from 780 UAH for 20 lifts; from 1400 UAH for 50 lifts. Ski and snowboard rental costs from UAH 150.

Accommodation: at recreation centers and hotels located near the ski lifts, from 350 UAH per double room in the low season (until December 27).

Dining: cafes, cafe-bars. In hotels and cottages there is a possibility to stay with 2 meals included: from 420 UAH for a double room per day.

YABLUNITSA

Where: Yablunytsia village, Yaremche city council, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

You can relax here at any time of the year. In winter it's skiing, and in summer it's the nature of the Carpathians, clean mountain air, various excursions, and inexpensive accommodation prices. Numerous tourist routes in the Carpathians originate from here. As part of a group, you can climb the peaks of Petros, Hoverla, and Khomyak.

What is offered. 6 trails, from 200 to 900 meters, with elevation differences from 150 to 280 meters. The width of the slopes is up to 150 meters. 5 double rope tow lifts - up to 1100 meters, there is a lift for beginners.

"Hard in training, easy in battle"

Entertainment: cafe, restaurant, kolyba, disco, sled and snowmobile rental, horseback riding, hiking excursions, souvenir market. Equipment rental, ski school and instructor services are also available.

Prices. Lift tickets: from 200 UAH per day; equipment rental - from 100 UAH.

Accommodation: there are hotels (from 400 UAH per day) and hostels (from 80 UAH). In a private house - from 200 UAH.

MIGOVO

Where: Myhove village, Vyzhnytsia district, Chernivtsi region.

Located at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level at the foot of the Kichera and Stizhok mountains. There is a convenient road leading to the ski resort. Not far from the village of Myhove is the Solonets tract, known for its mineral waters.

What is offered. The slopes in Myhove have a total length of more than 3000 meters. Several trails are laid from the upper station, one is designed for beginners, the other for training. A separate track is for snow tubing enthusiasts: it is an uncontrolled descent on inflatable "cheesecakes" along a specially prepared track - a 250-meter-long "chute".

Traditionally, there is equipment rental; a first-aid post; a ski school and instructor services. There is a skating rink in winter and a rollerdrome in summer. There are also recreation areas, game rooms, a children's playground; saunas in some hotels and outdoor pools; a cable park, a climbing wall; excursions and hiking in the mountains.

Prices. Lifts cost from 15 UAH for one lift; all-day passes cost 250-350 UAH; evening skiing costs from 200 UAH. Ski and snowboard rental costs from 90 UAH. The cost of renting a snow tube and using a multi-lift: 400 UAH per day, 130 (150 on weekends) per hour.

Accommodation: in hotels near the ski lifts, from 170 UAH for a double room.

Dining: There are restaurants, a pub, a pizzeria and a dining room. In the dining room, a full meal costs up to 50 UAH.

Then there are more "famous" and therefore somewhat more expensive resorts.

KRASIA

Where: Vyshka village, Velykyi Bereznyi district, Zakarpattia region.

The resort is located on Mount Krasiya (1036 m). It has a large number of slopes for skiing.

What's on offer: skiing, snowboarding, sledding. There are chair lifts (single - 1980 m, double - 1114 m and four-seater - 1585 m), as well as drag lifts - 470 m, 650 m, and a private multi-lift - 300 m. The width of the slopes is 100-250 meters. The Krasiya resort in Zakarpattia has the longest ski run in Ukraine - more than 3.5 km.

Beauty and ease of skill

There is also, of course, equipment rental, instructor services, and equipment repair and maintenance services.

Prices: the cost of a 1-day pass during the active season (from December 26 to March 7 on weekends and non-holidays) is 30 hryvnias; for 10 days - 2700 hryvnias. During the high season (weekends), it costs UAH 350 per day, and during the holiday season (New Year's and Christmas holidays), it costs UAH 550 per day. For children under 12 years of age, subscribers sell for 50% of the cost. The rental of the necessary ski equipment (skis, boots, poles) will cost 120 hryvnias per day during the active season, 130 hryvnias during the high season, and 170 hryvnias during the holidays.

Accommodation: possible in a hotel or in private estates. The cost per person per day starts at 170 UAH. For a family room (up to 5 people) - 800 UAH per day.

Dining: there are cafes and restaurants. For example, lunch in a cafe in the format "borscht + salad + side dish + chop" will cost 48-55 UAH.

PLAY

Where: Plavia village, Skole district, Lviv region

The history of Plavia began in 2006 with the construction of the first cable car. Today there are 6 slopes and training trails. Lifts: a rope tow and 2 chairlifts of 1000 m each, a multi-lift, a baby lift.

What is offered: 6 main trails, length up to 1200 m, height difference 260 m. There is a training track - 350 m, and a children's track - 350 m. There is also ski and snowboard rental. There is a ski and snowboard school. Evening and other entertainment: saunas, swimming pools, massage, billiards, bowling, cinema, horseback riding.

The complex has a church of St. Michael the Archangel and a museum of Boyko and Hutsul cultures.

Prices. Lift prices: weekdays/weekends: one-time use of the drag lift - 30/40 UAH; one-time use of the chair lift - 50/60 UAH; 1 day - 500/600 UAH; 5 days - 2100/3000 UAH. Ski rental: 150 UAH per day.

Accommodation: hotels and private estates, from 150-400 UAH per day.

Meals: from 50 hryvnia for lunch.
