The village of Bahna is located 5 km from the district center of Vyzhnytsia. The distance to the city of Chernivtsi is 70 km. The population exceeds 1300 people. Bagna was founded in 1650. The name of the village comes from the word "mud" because the area is heavily marshy. It is also said that the village got its name from the Bagna plain, where it was founded. The first settlers came from the village of Yavoriv in Halychyna and built mostly on the hills and near streams, avoiding the swampy areas. Over time, the number of buildings increased, and the plain was settled, because it was the place where bread was born. It is located in a beautiful picturesque place. It is surrounded by forests on all sides. The mountains protect it from the western winds. Worth visiting is the Church of St. Paraskeva with a bell tower (1930). Not far from the village there is a geological natural monument "Bahnyanski Antiquities".

At the beginning of the XX century, a brick factory operated in the village, producing bricks with decorations. It was used for the construction of residential buildings in the town of Vyzhnytsia and surrounding villages. This factory was destroyed during the Second World War and now there is a lake on this site.

Under Austria, the village had such public associations as the Ruska Besida (Russian Conversation), the Sich (Sich Society), a loan office, and a public primary school with Ukrainian as the language of instruction. With the advent of Soviet rule, the villagers hoped for a better life, but it turned out the other way around. Literate, patriotic, hardworking people were deported to Siberia, and their property was given to collective farms. Some of the patriotic villagers went to the forest with weapons in their hands. They built hiding places and hid from NKVD raids. Brothers Dmytro and Mykola Medeniuk were active insurgents.

Bahnianski Antiquities is a geological natural monument of local importance in Ukraine. It is located within the Vyzhnytsia district of the Chernivtsi region, south of the village of Bahna. The area is 60 hectares. The status was granted according to the decision of the 20th session of the Chernivtsi Regional Council of the IV convocation of 28.04.2005, № 66-20/05. It is managed by the State Enterprise "Berehomet Forestry and Hunting Farm".

The status was granted in order to preserve rocky outcrops of conglomerates of the Polyanitsa Suite. Solar signs of pre-Christian times (remains of a pagan sanctuary) were found on the rocks. The rocks are located on the northeastern slopes of the Pokutsko-Bukovyna Carpathians mountain range; they are of great scientific, cognitive, and aesthetic importance.

Traditional folk crafts: embroidery, wood carving, souvenirs. The area code for long-distance communication is 03730. Village council 6-54-31
