Ust-Chorna
Ust-Chorna (formerly Königsfeld) is an urban-type settlement in the Tyachiv district of Zakarpattia region.
In 1815, German immigrants who came to settle in the upper Carpathians found themselves in an extended part of the valley. The area impressed them with its beauty and originality, and the field among the mountains looked like a favorable place to establish a new settlement. Therefore, when the Germans saw this beauty, they said: "This is a field for kings". Thus, the village was named Königsfeld (German for "King's Field"). Initially, 8 houses and a Roman Catholic chapel were built, and over time, the village boundaries were expanded.
