Sromowce Niżne is a village in Poland, located in the administrative district of Gmina Czorsztyn, Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The village lies in the picturesque Dunajec valley in southern Poland, close to the Slovak border. Surrounded by the Spiš Magura and Pieniny mountains, it attracts visitors with its unique natural landscape and proximity to the Dunajec River.

The history of Sromowce Niżne dates back to the first half of the 14th century, when it was founded by the Poor Clares from Stary Sącz. Archaeological excavations have revealed traces of human presence from the late Paleolithic era. In the 16th century, the village belonged to the Czorsztyn estate. From 1975 to 1998, it was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship, and since 1999 it has belonged to Lesser Poland.

Sromowce Niżne is known for its scenic views, historical landmarks, and tourist facilities. The wooden church of St. Catherine from the 16th century, now an art gallery, is part of the Wooden Architecture Route. The village is a starting point for rafting on the Dunajec, as well as for hikes to Trzy Korony, Zamkowa Góra with the grotto of St. Kinga, and to the Red Monastery on the Slovak side. A pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Dunajec connects to the picturesque Pieniny Road.

Many hiking trails start from Sromowce Niżne, including "Sromowce Niżne – Kosarzyska" and "Sromowce Niżne – Krościenko nad Dunajcem". Mountain enthusiasts can reach peaks such as Trzy Korony, Wysoki Wierch, Sokolica, or Zamkowa Góra. Notable attractions include Dunajec raft trips, Czorsztyn Reservoir, the ruins of Czorsztyn Castle, and the "Trzy Korony" mountain hut. The region also features traditional cheese dairies offering oscypek and żętyca.
