Nowy Targ County is an administrative district in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, located in its southern part on the border with Slovakia. The county seat is the town of Nowy Targ. Established on January 1, 1999, as part of Poland's administrative reform, its history dates back to the mid-19th century with judicial and administrative districts in Galicia. Over time, the county's territory and composition changed due to reforms and political events.

Nowy Targ County covers part of the Carpathians, including the Pieniny, Gorce Mountains, and Orava. The area features scenic peaks such as Trzy Korony, Wysoki Wierch, and Szafranówka, as well as natural landmarks and resorts. The county is known for its rich nature, traditional culture, crafts, and thermal springs.
