"Synyak" Resort - Healing for Body and Soul

Synyak is a village in the Mukachevo district of the Transcarpathian region. It is named after the Synyavka River, famous for its mineral waters and healing properties. The village is located in a picturesque spot - near the mountains at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level, at the foothills of the volcanic Carpathian ridge. Mountains, forests, clean air, and beautiful water bodies - here you have the recipe for the perfect vacation. The resort operates year-round.

Health Complex

References to the healing waters of Synyavka date back to 1783, and by 1832 a "bath" was built here for the treatment of patients. The resort was popular among counts and other nobles.

Of course, much has changed since then, but the healing properties of the water remain, and "Synyak" continues to be one of the favorite health resorts among Ukrainians. Here, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, bone-muscle, and nervous systems are treated. There is no need to self-treat - it is better to consult a professional. Treatment, consultations, and procedures can be ordered directly at the sanatorium. You can also come here just to strengthen your immunity and relax.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided by guesthouses, recreation bases, private homesteads, wellness complexes, hostels, and chalets. You can stay near Synyak in neighboring villages (Plai, Polyana, Tysovetz, Slavske, Svalyava). Prices start from 200 UAH. Of course, for a large family or group, it is more economical to rent a homestead or cottage.

Skiing and Snowboarding

Synyak is not only a health resort but also a ski resort. Two local lifts are located on the territory of the same-name sanatorium. In winter, there is a button lift and a multi-lift operating, with their lower stations located close to each other (multi-lift - 350 meters and button lift - 1200 meters) and trails for skiing with lengths of 950 and 1200 meters, which are mainly designed for beginners. There are rental points for equipment on the resort territory, and you can also find an instructor.

Lift Prices:
  • Weekdays (half day) - 150 UAH (10:00 - 13:30 and 13:30 - 17:00).
  • Weekends (half day) - 200 UAH (10:00 - 13:30 and 13:30 - 17:00).
  • One ascent (children's trail 350 m) - 10 UAH.
  • One ascent (adult trail 1000 m) - 20 UAH.
  • Discounts for pensioners, students, and schoolchildren up to 10 years - 50%.
  • FREE for children up to 7 years.

From the upper station of the larger lift, you can descend via amateur or sports trails. Overall, the slope of the mountain is not too steep, grassy, sometimes overgrown with young trees, but hilly and winding in places. The simplest descent is the training trail near the multi-lift: here are all the conditions for the first attempts at skiing or snowboarding.

At the foot of the descents, there are ticket offices, ski equipment rental points (skis 100 UAH per day, snowboards 200 UAH per day), and the possibility to use an instructor's services. For relaxation near the larger lift, there are gazebos with tables and benches. There are also stalls with hot dishes and drinks. A snow groomer operates on the mountain.

To get to the lifts, you should orient yourself towards the "Synyak" sanatorium - the ski slopes are located near the building with the reception.

What Else to Visit?

Nearby is the natural Blue Lake of volcanic origin. This is a popular place for hiking routes, picnics, camping, or meditation. The Synyavka River is famous for its large number of trout, and near the village of Synyak, there are large coniferous forests. Read about the practice of "shinrin-yoku" (forest bathing) and learn to relax to the sounds of the forest. Resting at the "Synyak" resort is a reconnection with nature. Here, among tourists, popular activities include gathering mushrooms, berries, and medicinal herbs, and fishing.

Here are a few more options for interesting locations for an unforgettable vacation - take a break from the city noise and hustle!

  1. The highest peak of the mountain range is Mount Dunavka (1018 m), which ends along the valley of the Luh River.
  2. The Synyak Sphagnum Bog, Shypit Waterfall, and Synevyr Lake.
