Yaremche is undoubtedly the center of Hutsul crafts, and everyone knows it. The Hutsuls are an ancient and at the same time interesting ethnic group of Ukrainians whose distinctive culture is known far beyond the borders of Ukraine. The city of Yaremche is proud to have wonderful souvenir markets on its territory, where you can find the most interesting little things to keep a long and good memory of Yaremche.

There are two souvenir markets in Yaremche where you can find interesting trinkets to remember the Carpathians and bring your family and friends attributes of Hutsul culture and way of life.

  • The souvenir market is located at 278/1 Svobody Street. There are also food outlets on the territory of the market. From the market, going up Hrushevskoho Street, you can reach the Aviary Farm, where animals are kept in semi-captivity, there are observation towers and the opportunity to feed the animals. Next to it is the cozy Maiden's Tears waterfall, near which there are equipped places for recreation and picnics.
  • Souvenir market - 2b Petrash Street. On the territory of this market there is a famous restaurant "Hutsulshchyna", built without a single nail, and the falling waterfall "Probiy " of the Prut River, which can be admired on a large suspension bridge. A little further along the road, the popular Dovbush Trail begins.

This is a mecca of folk art. Not just some of its types are represented here, but almost all of them. Souvenirs are brought here from all the surrounding villages, craft centers of the region and all over Ukraine. Products made of leather, wood, wool, and other natural materials are imbued with the imagination and love of folk craftsmen. The skilled and hardworking hands of local craftsmen produce Easter eggs, carved, inlaid and burnt wooden vases, caskets, plates, spoons, barrels, various ceramic dishes, kumantsi, tiles, sculptures, embroidered and woven shirts, towels, carpets and spindles, bedspreads, beaded, metal and leather goods.

The Hutsul market also surprises with the gifts of nature - honey, nuts, and herbs - which can be purchased directly from the source.

Visiting markets is an informative and very pleasant excursion. Vendors will not only tell you everything they know about their products, but will also be happy to tell you about the history and traditions of the area. It is not for nothing that the products of Hutsul craftsmen adorn museums in Europe and America.

The Hutsul souvenir market in the Carpathians is a paradise for tourists who are fascinated by Hutsul culture. Everyone who visits it will be able to take away a small piece of the unique beauty of Western Ukraine.
