Vakhnivtsi is a village in Ukraine, in the Chernivtsi region, Vyzhnytsia district. Vakhnivtsi village is a part of Lukavets village council. The population is about 300 people. The distance to the city of Chernivtsi is 56 km.
On June 21, 2015, at a general meeting in Vakhnivtsi, parishioners of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel decided to transfer the parish to the jurisdiction of the UOC-KP. They were prompted to do so by the actions of the former rector, who supported Russian aggression outside the church and during services. On Thursday, June 25, the first service was performed by the priests of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate.
