Polonyna Shchivka

There are many picturesque places in Ukraine. One of these places is the Shchivka meadow.

Information about the meadow

The Shchivka meadow has a very good location. Its length is about 700 meters, it has a slight slope, which protects it from strong winds and other weather conditions. The Shchivka meadow is surrounded by coniferous forest. In summer, locals graze their cattle here. It is from this place that a stunning view of the Gorgany mountain range opens up. There is also a small wooden house (kolyba) that serves as a shelter for shepherds. Tourists often spend the night in this building.

Getting there.

You can get to the city of Yaremche from Ivano-Frankivsk. Then you have a long way to go on foot. It is advisable to find an experienced guide to avoid getting lost in the dense Carpathian forest. The Shchivka meadow is located near Mount Synyachka. Nearby there is another meadow where you can rest or spend the night (if your hike lasts several days) - the Lazok meadow. If you are walking in the vicinity of Yaremche, be sure to visit the Probiy and Maiden's Tears waterfalls, as well as the local souvenir market.
