Kernychnyi is a 1,589-meter peak of the Ukrainian Carpathians, which is located in the Chyvchyn Mountains of the Marmarosh mountain range. The mountain is located within the Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, southwest of the village of Zelene.

Kernychnyi is a rather massive mountain of the main Chyvchyn ridge. Its slopes, unlike most of the peaks of the Marmarosh mountain range, are gentle. The peak itself is flat and unforested; numerous sprawling meadows are scattered around it.

On the northern slope of Mount Kernychnyi, the Velykyi Kernychnyi stream, which is the left tributary of the Black Cheremosh River, originates.

To the west of Kernychnyi is Mount Kopylash, and to the south is Mount Furatyk.

The border between Romania and Ukraine stretches across the very top of Mount Kernychnyi from northwest to southeast.

The nearest settlement is thevillage of Zelene (Verkhovyna district , Ivano-Frankivsk region).
