Історико-краєзнавчий музей розташований в селищній раді смт. Кути (приміщення колишньої ратуші кін. XVIII ст.), що на Косівщині Івано-Франківська області.
The museum was founded in the early 90s of the XX century at the initiative of Omelyan Nimitz, a well-known Ukrainian local historian, author of books about the life and customs of Lemkos, the Holodomor, and the history of education development.

Kuty Local Lore Museum occupies several rooms, each containing exhibits from the 19th-20th centuries (a total of over 1,000). The permanent exhibitions showcase:
- wood and wicker products;
- ceramic items;
- canvas and woolen clothing;
- books on the history of culture and education in Ukraine, written in Ukrainian, Russian, German, and Polish;
- photographs, archival documents, banknotes, postcards, and materials that tell about the history of the founding and activities of the Sich Riflemen, UPA, OUN, etc.
