Kuta Museum of Local Lore
The museum is located in a vacated school building and occupies 5 rooms with the following exhibitions: "Products made of wicker, wood, and ceramics (nineteenth and twentieth centuries)"; "Tools and objects of labor"; "Samples of clothing made of cloth and canvas"; "Exhibits on the history of education and culture of Ukraine - books in German, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, publications of the 20-30s. Photographs, postcards, banknotes, documents, materials for the exhibition - the millennium of the baptism of Rus-Ukraine, the history of the OUN-UPA, Sich Riflemen, etc.
Among the most famous exhibits are a fragment of a tile by Oleksandr Bakhmatyuk (mid-nineteenth century), a wooden bowl (nineteenth century), an atlas of the world's peoples (second half of the nineteenth century), and others.
The local history museum in Kuty is a landmark of the village, which has collected the history of the region and willingly shares it with tourists. The museum was set up in vacated school premises, where classes were no longer held.
The museum occupies 5 rooms - vacated premises where the school used to be located. Today, there are several exhibitions. Visitors can see: ceramics, wicker and wood products of the 19th and 20th centuries, objects of labor and everyday life of the inhabitants of Kosiv region, including clothes made of cloth and homespun cloth.
There are also exhibits on the history of education and culture, including books from the early 20th century in Ukrainian, Polish, German, and Russian. There are collections of items representing different periods of history: documents, postcards, photos, banknotes dedicated to the baptism of Rus-Ukraine, the period of the Sich Riflemen, and the OUN-UPA.
Among the most famous exhibits are items from the 19th century: a fragment of a tile by the famous master Oleksandr Bakhmatyuk dating from the 19th century, a bowl made of wood from the same period, and an atlas of the world's peoples from the second half of the 19th century.
The local history museum is located on Vicheva Square in the village of Kuty. If you are traveling by car, from Ivano-Frankivsk to Kuty you need to go through Kolomyia to Kosiv, and from there through Stari Kuty. There is a direct bus service from Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv. The nearest railway station is Vyzhnytsia, which is a few minutes away by bus.
