Iza is a village in Ukraine, in the Khust district of the Zakarpattia region, the center of the village council. It is located between two mountain ranges, on the left bank of the Rika River, 5 km from the district center and the Khust railway station.
Iza has been known as a center of wickerwork since the 19th century. This craft spread thanks to the master Ivan Kashko. He taught his sons how to process wicker and weave baskets and other items from it, and they began to make products not only for themselves but also for sale. Over time, this occupation became the main activity for almost all villagers. It is here that you can find a wide variety of Easter baskets, rocking chairs, and other products made from this material. You can buy a wicker product in Iza almost everywhere. People sell them right along the road, near their houses. It seems that the locals know how to weave everything out of wicker.
Not far from the village there is a farm famous throughout Ukraine where spotted deer are raised. The deer farm is a supplier of an important medical raw material, pantocrine, which is extracted from the animals' horns. But it so happened that the purchase price of raw materials in Ukraine is about 10 times lower than in Europe, so the owners also use the farm as a tourist attraction.
The village also has the St. Nicholas Monastery, where the relics of St. Alexei of the Carpathians are kept.
You can also see the famous Narcissus Valley, located about 2 kilometers away .
