Ecotourism visit center, Yaremche
The Ecotourism Visitor Center in Yaremcheis one of the best and most unique tourist information centers in Ukraine. The center of the Carpathian National Nature Park was created according to a unique model that includes three key components: the beauty of nature and the uniqueness of the landscape, the character and uniqueness of history, and the sanctity and sacredness of local monuments.
In 2009, an Ecotourism Visitor Center was opened in the Carpathian National Park, which was created with the financial support of the EU under the project "Creation of a cross-border network for the development and promotion of tourism between Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine and Maramures County. Ukraine and Maramures County, Romania". The project was implemented by the Tourist Association of Ivano-Frankivsk Region in partnership with the Carpathian National Nature Park, Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, and the Ecologic Association, Romania.
The main goal of the visit center in Yaremche is to promote the development of an attractive eco-tourism image of the Carpathian National Park. Today, it is the only tourist attraction that represents not only the area but also modern environmental protection concepts in an attractive and interesting format for visitors. Here, visitors can access information about the region, protected areas, the richness of flora and fauna, culture and lifestyle of local residents, receive information and promotional materials, and visit the Hutsul region museum room.
The visitor center consists of various sections that demonstrate environmental education, the main attractions of the Carpathian National Park, local Hutsul culture, and rules of behavior in nature. The section of changeable exhibits creates an opportunity to display temporary exhibits. The original reproduction of the Chornohora range is a model of mountains with the height exceeding 2000 m above sea level. There are also two dioramas depicting different natural complexes (water, forest and subalpine ecosystems).
The comfortable multimedia conference hall, which allows to bring together 80 people without disturbing the comfort of stay, is suitable for conferences, seminars and round tables. Visitors are invited to watch an exclusive demonstration film about the geography, history, ethnography and tourist attractions of the Carpathian region. This film was created and dubbed in 6 languages (Ukrainian, English, German, Romanian, Polish and Russian). The visitor center includes computer equipment, an exclusive film, audiovisual material, and information stands.
The newly created visitor center is a modern and functional facility, unique in Ukraine today, designed to keep tourists in the region, maximizing their interest in the eco-tourism attractions of the region.
This center participated in the project "Open Tourism: Accessibility of Recreation in Ivano-Frankivsk Region for People with Special Needs". The working group analyzed the level of accessibility of the museum for groups of tourists with limited mobility.
