The village of Tarashany is located in the eastern part of Hlyboka district, 12 km from the district center and the Hlyboka-Bukovynska railway station. A highway passes through the village. The village was first mentioned in a charter of 1418.
At one time, the village had a flax processing plant, which was known in Ukraine, and the local collective farm specialized in growing flax. This is reflected in the village's coat of arms, which features a flax flower. The coat of arms also features a boat with a bobbin, which emphasizes the developed weaving, and the cloth products were famous beyond the district and region. The craftswomen still pass this type of craft to their descendants.
In 1933, the first school was built in Tarashany. Before 1933, there were only primary classes in the village, located in adapted premises. 1944 - after the liberation of the Chernivtsi region from the Nazis, the school was renamed the Tarashany seven-year school, and later an 8-year school. Teachers were sent from Eastern Ukraine. 1963 - The first director, a native of Tarashany village, was Mykhailo Antonovych Vidlinskyi. 1997-1998 - students started studying in a new building of the former collective farm office.
In Tarashany, Hlyboka district, Chernivtsi region, there are people who are truly concerned about the fate of young people. That is why the elders instill in their children a love of creativity and work from an early age. And the center of this is the House of Culture. Unlike in other villages, it works properly here, and children can attend as many as 8 different clubs: dance, drama, folklore and ethnography, artistic reading, physical education, and others. The pride of the village is the "Vesela" and "Plai" clubs, which do not miss a single holiday either in the village or in the district.
The village has preserved its ancient crafts. In almost every house you can see items of clothing and household goods made by the owner. There are woven or embroidered towels, beautifully decorated shirts, and carpets with shelves. In the past, almost all the respected housewives of the village did this. Nowadays, only a few people do. However, this tradition still lives on.
In the village there is a hotel and restaurant complex built in 2014 on the basis of the Tarashany tourist complex. The complex has an extensive infrastructure: a hotel and restaurant, a cottage block, several gazebo areas and children's attractions, a fitness club, an aqua zone, a SPA center, a complex of baths and saunas, a network of bars and cafes, and a conference hall for organizing business events. A swimming pool was opened in July 2014. In 2015, the complex was supplemented with modern sports grounds for tennis, mini-football, volleyball (with a separate beach volleyball court) and basketball.
