Mount Maly Gorgan
Small Gorgan, with a height of 1592 meters, is a peak of the Ukrainian Carpathians that is quite famous among outdoor enthusiasts, located on the territory of the Gorgan mountain range.
The mountain is located in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, or to be more precise, in the Naddirna district: west of the village of Tatariv and north of the village of Polianytsia. Thanks to good transport links between the above-mentioned settlements and large cities, Malyi Horhan is a fairly popular climbing destination among tourists, at any time of the year.
From the northeastern part, the slopes of the mountain are very steep and almost inaccessible. The peak and the summit slopes of Small Gorgan are "bald", completely covered with specific yellowish Gorgan stone placers, and only elsewhere can you find a crooked forest from the stallion. The slopes of the peak, located below the line of the meadows, are densely covered with mixed forests.
Malyi Horhan, together with the neighboring mountain Sinyak (1665 m), form a small mountain range Sinyak, about 6 kilometers long.
The closest settlements to Malyi Horhan are the villages of Tatariv and Polianytsia, from which most hikers start their ascent to the mountain.
