The village of Kobolchyn is the capital of pottery in Bukovyna. Since ancient times, pottery masters have lived here. From generation to generation, they have passed on the art of the potter's wheel, making all kinds of dishes for cooking, storing and eating (pots, jugs, bowls, makitras, markets, gourds, barrels, kumantsi, mugs, etc.), as well as ceremonial utensils, architectural and construction products (bricks, tiles, tiles, chimneys). The village began to practice pottery several centuries ago. The Moldovan charter of 1447 mentions several centers of pottery production, including the village of Kobolchyn.

In December 2008, the Kobolchyn District Pottery Museum was opened. It was founded by Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Ivan Ivanovych Honchar. About a thousand pots created by the pottery dynasties of Kobolchyn village are kept here.

The Kobolchynska River, a right tributary of the Dniester, flows through the village. The first mention of the village dates back to 1470, when the boyarina Anna, the sister of Logofet Dobrulov, transferred the settlement to her nephews, Bars and Shushman. According to data from 1859, 1471 people (773 males and 698 females) lived in the owner's village of Khotyn district of Bessarabia province, there were 234 households, an Orthodox church, and a ferry crossing.

As of 1886, the owner's village of Sekuryanska volost was home to 1847 people, 325 households, and an Orthodox church.

On May 22, the Day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is a church holiday for the villagers of Kobolchyn. Traditionally, on this day, residents gather in a friendly circle to celebrate the village day, socialize, and rejoice in each other's successes. The main goal of the holiday is to form a person's value-based attitude towards the Ukrainian people, homeland, state and nation. Preparation for independent life in the modern world, formation of a true citizen of independent Ukraine.
