The museum was founded in 2003. Its exposition occupies one room in the building of school No. 1 and includes almost 500 exhibits. The documents and materials on display cover the history of the school from the postwar period to the present day, and tell the story of the formation of the teaching staff and school traditions.

Of particular interest is the stand "Their Work Was Recognized by the State," which shows the generation of older teachers, those who were awarded Makarenko medals and received the title of Honored Teachers of Ukraine. Visitors will also be interested to see models of ancient castles made by former history teacher Petro Kyryliuk.
