"Берегиня" – добре знаний не тільки в Івано-Франківській області, але й далеко за її межами історико-етнографічний музей. Заснований культурний заклад в 1987 р. викладачем української мови і літератури Бурштинського енерготехнікуму Тамарою Григорівною Гусар.
Although the museum was officially opened in 1987, the collection of rare exhibits began long before that. Thanks to such painstaking work, a unique collection of genuine artifacts has been gathered in one place.
Since 1992, the museum exhibition "Beregynya" has been located in the walls of the dormitory of the current Burshtyn Energy College of IFNTUOG. It is worth noting that the collection of exhibits presented to visitors today was gathered by 2001.
Today, the "Beregynya" collections hold over 1500 antique items – each unique and, at times, quite rare. All these exhibits, gathered by local residents, serve as a kind of talisman of the culture and history of Opillia, whose ethnographic culture is still not fully studied.
The exhibition of the "Beregynya" museum is divided into separate sections, including: "Archaeological" (this hall contains information about the region, featuring ancient items such as mammoth teeth and stone axes, results of numerous studies and excavations in the vicinity of Burshtyn); "Opillian Housing" (here is a unique collection of household items, linens, a stove with various baking tools, etc.); "Opillian Embroidery" (the room showcases a collection of 160 women's and men's shirts, 250 towels, numerous women's costumes, and embroidered aprons), etc.
The museum's collections also include numerous archival documents and photographic materials about the sad pages in the history of Opillia – regarding Turkish and Tatar raids, the oppression of Polish and Austrian authorities, the times of the two World Wars, etc.
