Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit (new), Huklyvyi

Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, founded in 1932 (UOC).

It is said that the Orthodox community in Huklyve was organized by a Russian emigrant, priest Pastukhov. The plot for the church was allocated from his land by Mykhailo Tsinik, who was also one of the organizers of the construction. The construction was led by an engineer from Volovets, Mykhailo Pop. Volovets craftsmen Mykhailo Raychynets, his older brother, Ivan and Pavlo Tymkovych, and Fulytka worked with him.

It is known from printed sources that a talented Russian immigrant architect (originally from Kyiv), Vsevolod Kolomatskyi, was involved in the construction of this church. Perhaps he designed this peculiar building.

In 1993, they began to prepare materials for the construction of a new brick church, and in 1995 the walls of the new building were built around the wooden church.

The construction work was supervised by Fedir Lapko, the construction of the complex roof was led by Fedir Rusyn, and Volodymyr Sidey was a tinsmith. The help of the village head, M. Khmelnytskyi, carpenters Mykhailo Shchobak and Petro Porokhnavets, and all the villagers who worked on the construction site every day was significant.

In the summer of 1999, the wooden church that was inside the newly built one was dismantled.
