Muránska Zdychava is a village in the Revúca District, Banská Bystrica Region, Slovakia. It lies in a picturesque valley of the Zdychava stream, surrounded by the Slovak Ore Mountains. The village center is situated at an elevation of about 520 meters, with scattered homesteads reaching up to 850 meters on the hillsides. Muránska Zdychava is located approximately 6.5 km north of Revúca.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1427. Muránska Zdychava was established during the Wallachian colonization in the 15th–16th centuries and later belonged to the feudal domain of Muráň Castle. At the end of the 16th century, residents paid tribute to the Turks. During the Slovak National Uprising, villagers supported the insurgents, and in the winter of 1944–1945, they aided partisans. The village was liberated from German occupation on January 27, 1945.

The village is known for its scattered settlement pattern, typical of mountain regions, as well as traditions of sheep farming, forestry, and rural life. The area is attractive for its natural landscapes, rich forests, mountain meadows, and proximity to peaks such as Stolica and Kráľova hoľa. The Zdychava stream flows through the village, and the surrounding mountains are part of the Carpathians.

Visitors to Muránska Zdychava can explore numerous hiking trails, including “Červená Skala – Muránska Zdychava,” “Rudná magistrála: Kadák – Stolica,” and “Pavol Jozef Šafárik Trail: Stolica – Rožňava.” Nearby, you will find the peaks Stolica and Kráľova hoľa, as well as the “Chata pod Kráľovou hoľou” hut. Notable sights in the area include Muráň Castle, Veľká lúka on Muránska planina, and the alpine meadows of Kráľova hoľa. Local specialties can be enjoyed at the “Čučoriedkový sad v Ratkovskom Bystrom” for berry picking and aronia juice tasting.
