Sokil is a village in Ukraine, in the Halych district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The local self-government body is Komariv village council, to which the villages are subordinated: Komariv and Sokil. The population is 244 people. The written mention of the village dates back to February 28, 1452 in the books of the Galician court. Von Mieg marked the village as "Monastyr" on his map of 1779.

According to the 1900 census, the village had 22 houses and 132 inhabitants (1 Roman Catholic, 129 Greek Catholics, and 1 Jew; all 132 were Ukrainians), 176 hectares of land (150 hectares of taxable land: 26 hectares of arable land, 23 hectares of meadows, 4 hectares of orchards, 14 hectares of pastures, and 83 hectares of forest), the village belonged to the Kryłos gmina (self-governing community) of the Stanisławów Poviat.

On September 25, 1944, two UPA units "Swans" led by commander "Shum" and a unit led by commander "Burya" from the "Horta" unit ambushed the village. As a result, 173 "jumpers" were killed.

There is an elementary school in the village. Residents of Sokol are building a club in their village at their own expense and on their own.

On the outskirts of the village, there is a children's health and recreation center "Sokil " (sanatorium type), which has been operating since 1974 to the present day. It is located in one of the picturesque valleys 150 meters from the crystal clear Limnytsia River. The Sokil recreation center has an area of 7.5 hectares of greenery. The facility has been assigned the highest category and is one of the largest in the region.

The complex has 8 residential buildings, sports grounds (volleyball, basketball and 2 football fields), a dining room (for 500 seats in one shift), a gym, a physical therapy room, trampolines, a museum of antiquities, club rooms, a sauna with a swimming pool, a medical building, and 4 outdoor swimming pools in the summer. Accommodation in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6-bed rooms. "Sokol is open all year round. In the autumn and winter period (from 31.10 to 01.05) - in the mode of a sanatorium - dispensary.
