Knyazha Krynytsia, Krylos
The village Krylos, located in Prykarpattia, has a long and glorious history. On its territory once stood the city of Halych – the capital of the Halych-Volyn principality. On one of the hills, there is Knyazha Krynytsia. This spring is shrouded in ancient legends and tales. In times when the city was besieged multiple times, local residents drew water here and saved themselves from death.
According to one legend, during another siege of Halych, the townspeople had food supplies, but water was catastrophically lacking for everyone. The prince, along with his advisors, climbed one of the mountains and plunged his sword into the ground. From beneath it, a spring began to bubble up. Thus, the people were saved, and the enemies soon retreated from the city walls. The ruler ordered to beautify the life-giving spring, which later received the name Knyazha Krynytsia.

In another tale, there is mention of an old sorcerer. During a prolonged blockade, the army was so weakened that it begged the prince to surrender. The elder advised him to wait with the decision and led him to a mountain near the city. The ruler plunged his sword into the ground in the city where the last rays of sunlight fell, and from there a stream began to flow.
By the 1100th anniversary of Halych, in 1998, Knyazha Krynytsia was restored, and a viewing platform was built nearby. From here, a beautiful view opens up of Halych, the Church of St. Panteleimon from the 12th century, and the pipes of the Burshtyn TPP.
The water in the spring is tasty, and many people come here with bottles to fill them for home or on the go. You can also bring a container to take some water from the spring in Krylos. After descending, you can drink healing water from another spring, which has the romantic name "Franciskovi Ochi".
