The 1070-hectare Polyanets Regional Landscape Park was established in 1996 on the territory of the Polyanets Forestry of the Bolekhiv State Forestry in the eastern part of the Skole Beskids.
The Polianytsia Regional Landscape Park is an original mountain range within the Skole Beskydy in terms of geobotany and landscape. The altitude difference ranges from 500.0 to 887.1 meters (Mount Gerchi) above sea level. This is an area of medium-altitude monoclinic ridges, its orography is characterized by longitudinal-zonal distribution of structural and orographic elements that extend in parallel ridges from northwest to southeast. The slopes of the ridges are asymmetrically constructed and steep, confined to hard resistant rocks. High forestation and picturesque landscapes, the presence of unique areas of untouched nature, the richness of flora and fauna, and the variety of relief forms determine the special value of the recreational resources of the Skole Beskydy. However, along with landscapes or vegetation, recreationists are often attracted to inanimate nature objects, which are based on the hydrological network (springs, streams, rivers), orography and geomorphological structure of the area.
The territory of the park borders with Lviv region on the northern side. Almost 80% of the territory is occupied by forests: pure beech plantations aged from 60 to 160 years; a small share belongs to mixed beech-fir and beech-pine forests, there are several areas of spruce-pine plantations with relict scots pine; fluffy birch is rare. Among the rare plant species are a number of those listed in the Red Book of Ukraine: common lamb's-eye, annual plain, spring snowflower, common snowdrop, forest lily, two-leaved lover's lily, ovoid cuckoo's tears, two-leaved mace, and in hay meadows - mountain arnica, finger-root, mosquito bugle, and large astrantia. There is also a rich fauna: black Carpathian squirrel, weasel, forest and stone martens, badgers, hares, foxes and roes. During seasonal migrations, you can see the Carpathian red deer, wild boar, and wolf. Spotted salamanders are common in the moist beech forests and the Carpathian crested newt in the lakes. Trout are found in the streams.
The area of the landscape park covers a number of typical and unique rock formations and belongs to the territory with rocks that are the most famous rock formations in the Ukrainian Carpathians, with a rich geological, geomorphological, historical and archaeological theme. At the same time, they are the most visited recreational geo-heritage sites in the region. Every day, at any time of the year, the Dovbush Rocks tract is visited by a significant number of tourists, both as part of scheduled excursion groups from the resorts of Morshyn, Skhidnytsia, and Truskavets, and independently, from all over the world. It is a favorite place for rock climbers. Various competitions are organized and held here. The entrance and entry for visitors is paid. There are several well-equipped recreational complexes for tourists where they can taste traditional Boikos dishes, see buildings and structures typical of the Carpathians, and listen to live music.
The park is a complex natural monument of national importance "Dovbush Rocks" with an area of 100.0 hectares and a hydrological natural monument of local importance "Mountain Lake" with an area of 0.32 hectares.
