Museum of Hutsul Life, Ethnography and Musical Instruments of Roman Kumlyk

Музей гуцульського побуту, етнографії та музичних інструментів Р. Кумлика – невеличкий приватний музей, що розташований у Івано-Франківській області в смт. Верховина.

The founder of the cultural platform is the famous Verkhovyna musician-virtuoso, ethnographer, poet-collective artist, and honored worker of culture of Ukraine Roman Petrovych Kumlyk (1948-2014). The museum was opened in the early 2000s.

The museum's collections include a huge collection of unique exhibits, gathered by Roman Petrovych over 30 years. Today, visitors can see various household items, ancient clothing of the mountain people, tools, and much more, all of which tell about the daily life of the Hutsuls.

A special place in the museum's collection is occupied by authentic musical instruments: cymbals, drymba, trembita, horns, kozha, as well as violins, including rare items such as rectangular violin and carved violin.

Until 2014 (the year Roman Petrovych sadly passed away), the museum's owner conducted improvised tours, told about the life of the Hutsuls, their holidays and everyday life, unique art, performed songs, kolomyikas, Hutsul songs, skillfully played various instruments, and much more.
