8

В. Савчук.

The main goal of creating the museum "Vesela Oselya" is to study and promote the culture of laughter in Ukraine and the world, namely humor, satire, caricature, clowning, comedy, and more. However, Mykola Vasylovych does not intend to stop at the achieved milestone of opening the Center. The founder plans to organize seminars and forums for caricaturists and humorists, summer schools for young humorists, laughter festivals, exhibitions, and many other thematic cultural and entertainment events.

In addition, the release of various printed thematic publications about laughter culture in different countries, albums of caricatures, humorous postcards, and much more is also planned.

The "Vesela Oselya" museum is divided into separate halls, namely:

  • a permanent exhibition;
  • a library;
  • a video and audio archive;
  • an archive.

The Center houses numerous exhibits that cover a wide range of both Ukrainian and world humor, comedy, satire, and caricature. Thus, the museum collection includes various books, periodicals, postcards, photographs, posters, souvenirs, badges, figurines, and more.

The museum also features a laughter mirror and audiovisual equipment, including a music center and a television, allowing visitors to watch comedic masterpieces of world cinema and listen to recordings of famous Ukrainian humorists and humorous songs.

Today, the establishment attracts many interested tourists, so the museum's future plans are commendable:

  • to open a summer school for young humorists;
  • to organize laughter festivals;
  • to conduct master classes, exhibitions, and various competitions;
  • to open symposiums for humorists and caricaturists;
  • to start publishing humorous postcards and releasing reference literature on laughter culture.

In addition to the extensive exhibition, the museum has a large library with a significant video and audio archive, allowing for screenings of comedy films and listening to CDs.

The museum's humor exhibition

"Vesela Oselya" has managed to collect a significant collection of Ukrainian humor and even a portion of world humor, satire, and caricature in a relatively short period of existence. Here you can find:

  • funny souvenirs: mugs, bottles, shot glasses, plaques, and plates;
  • photographs and sculptures;
  • humorous playing cards, calendars, business cards, certificates, banknotes, a humorous map of the country, plastic figurines;
  • collections of anecdotes and toasts, books of Ukrainian humor;
  • CDs with recordings of famous humorists, classic comedies of Ukrainian cinema;
  • a brief register of Ukrainian surnames and names of Ukrainian settlements that will leave no one indifferent who reads them.

The museum features special illustrative stands on various relevant topics. A separate place is dedicated to the famous Ukrainian artist and caricaturist Edward Kozak – the publisher of the magazines "Lys Mykyta" and "Komar". In the center of the museum exhibition are humorous publications from other countries: England, Poland, the USA, France, China, Italy, and Russia.
