Burshtyn Palace of Culture of Power Engineers "Prometheus" is a Palace of Culture in Burshtyn, a significant cultural and artistic center of the city and Halych district, which hosts numerous cultural and artistic groups. It is currently managed by Burshtyn TPP. The Prometheus Palace of Culture of Power Engineers is located in a majestic, specially built functional building on a cliff above the Burshtyn Reservoir.

The Palace of Culture was built in 1971 and immediately became not only an architectural decoration of Burshtyn, but also the main center of culture and leisure for the town and the entire Opillya region. The authors of the three-dimensional mosaic that adorns the facade of the Palace of Culture are Viktor Elkonin and Yurii Aleksandrov. The work was recognized by numerous publications in magazines about architecture and art of the 1970s. Both the complex and the square in front of it are traditional venues for various cultural events. In fact, the Palace of Power Engineers is the main stage (concert venue) of the city and the Opilnia region, where all the famous touring performers of Ukraine and the region perform. It also hosts a variety of other cultural events, promotions, shows, and trade exhibitions.

To carry out its activities, the Palace has the appropriate material base, namely:

2 halls - a cinema and concert hall with 700 seats and a small hall with 250 seats;
a conference hall for 60 seats
Museum of the liberation struggle of the Galician region
a cafe-bar for visitors;
there is a wonderful library with a renovated modern reading room, which is visited by many readers. Meetings with authors - writers, poets - are held, interesting master classes and educational films for children and schoolchildren are organized;
two gyms;
a room for hobby groups and artistic creativity.

"Prometheus has always played the role of one of the largest cultural centers in the city. Thanks to its facilities - space and technical equipment - it is best suited for holding cultural and social events, such as concerts, exhibitions, fairs, and auctions of various kinds. The Prometheus Palace of Culture is also home to 11 professional creative teams and 6 creative clubs attended by about 500 children. "The Prometheus impressed with its large halls, numerous rooms for clubs and workshops, dressing rooms, costume rooms, and its greatest asset - its artists.

The first director of the Palace of Culture was Volodymyr Ilyin, followed by Hanna Hochiyaeva, and since 2000 the team has been headed by Andriy Vishchuk. And for the last decade, Ruslana Shevchuk has been managing the institution.

In the 70s, the Prometheus and the entire Prykarpattia region were proud of the vocal and dance ensemble "Atlantic" (artistic director - Liudmyla Stepaniuk), the choir of the medical unit employees, the folk dance ensemble "Vykhor", the children's model ensemble "Vohnyk " (led by Ivan and Halyna Pushkari), in the 80s - the folk women's vocal ensemble "Berehynia " (P. Bachynskyi), the vocal ensemble "Smerichka " (Halyna Rymar).

An amateur drama group led by Hanna Hochiaieva became very popular at that time. Dramatic works by the classics of Ukrainian literature were staged on the stage of the Palace of Culture, and the drama group was invited to visit other towns and villages of the region. In the early 90s, the exemplary ballroom and pop dance ensemble "Perlyna " (under the direction of Iryna Tishchenko) shone with its talent, the men's choir "Homin" (led by Ivan Zobkiv) began to play, and later a new creative team was formed - the men's chapel "Dzvin". At the same time, the pop vocal and instrumental group Nuance (Oleksandr Bandura) and the vocal group Perekhrestia (I. Krutyholova) began to work.

For two decades now, the Palace of Culture has hosted a vocal studio for pop singers, run by Ihor Ivantsiv, a member of the National League of Composers of Ukraine. A whole generation of musicians grew up in the creative studio of composer I. A whole galaxy of famous artists grew up in I. Ivantsiv's studio, including Oksana Hrytsai (Mika Newton), Oksana Romanyuk, Vitaliy Bobkovych, Hanna Voronchak, Iryna Didyk, Ihor Dmytryshyn, young winners of pop competitions and festivals Alina Chaban, Sofia Terletska, and other young vocalists.

In addition to amateur art groups, the Palace of Culture hosted technical creativity groups, a philatelic club, cutting and sewing courses, foreign language courses, and the Black Swan youth creative club (headed by Natalia Kobel).

In the early 2000s, the Prometheus began to work creatively with the cultural and children's sectors, headed by Ruslana Hochiaieva and Oleksandra Hutnyk. Under the direction of Nadiia Yakymovych, the newly formed vocal trio Verbonka sings melodiously.

In 2002, 20 creative teams of cultural, artistic, and technical directions were active in this institution, with more than five hundred residents of Burshtyn and surrounding villages.

In 2004, the district public youth organization "Oberih" was founded on the basis of the exemplary ballroom and pop dance ensemble "Perlyna" and was headed by Ruslana Hochiyaeva. "Oberih helped to attract Burshtyn youth to take an active part in the city's artistic life. The brass band under the direction of Vasyl Kuziv is now a fixture at every event in Burshtyn.

The main focus of the Palace of Culture is the development of amateur artistic activity. However, the team's work is not limited to this. The Burshtyn Palace of Culture of Power Engineers "Prometheus" often hosts professional performers, professional theaters, competitions, festivals, theatrical holidays, exhibitions, discos, and theme nights. In total, the Palace of Power Engineers has 18 amateur art clubs with more than 300 participants, including about 250 children and teenagers.

The Palace of Power Engineers houses the Museum of the Liberation Struggle of the Galician Region. The museum contains materials about the events of World War II in the region, prominent figures, and the work of local intellectuals of that time. There are more than 300 photographs, weapons, models of hiding places, archival documents, and maps of the fighting.

On the initiative of the OUN-UPA Brotherhood of the Halych district village and the Society of Political Prisoners and Repressed of the Halych district, the OUN-UPA Museum was founded in 1996 and approved by the decision of the extraordinary Halych district session of March 8, 1998. The initiative group was headed by Filaret Skaskiv, then the head of the district Brotherhood. In connection with the death of F. Skaskiv, Mykola Yatskiv, the head of the OUN-UPA district Brotherhood, became the head of the organizing committee in November 1998. In less than three years, more than 3500 visitors have visited the museum.

The museum's exposition was replenished with the assistance of district authorities, city and village councils, teachers, librarians, and patriotic activists. A significant success was the restoration and presentation on museum stands of the names of repressed and murdered residents of the Halych district, 1630 people during the rampant Soviet rule. The museum features models of hiding places where UPA soldiers hid during raids, as well as some of the weapons used at the time.
